A live in nanny will normally be a full time position for 5 days per week.

The nannies duties will cover all aspects of childcare / nursery duties,from taking total care of the child including the school run, attending after school activities and dealing with any of the childs appointments .

Duties will also include preparing meals, running errands and helping the child keep clean and tidy.

As with a daily nanny there will be to further a childs development. The nanny will be expected to organize trips to the park, library or promote any other learning opportunity. As your nanny will be creating a personal bond with you and your child it will be expected that there will be an initial period before the benefits of a live in nanny can be seen.

Live in nannies will require suitable accommodation, requiring their own bedroom and bathroom.

Working hours are between 10 to 12 hours per day for 5 days per week.

For this, the salary will be from GBP 300 per week. This will be a net sum with the employer responsible for their tax and national insurance.

Live in Nannies will baby sit 2 nights per week as part of their contract. If any extra baby-sitting is required, employers will have to pay their live in nanny extra (Between GBP 7 to GBP 10 an hour) or give time off in lieu. National holidays are given, or if worked, an additional payment is expected.

Should a nanny be asked to holiday with a family then this should be agreed well in advance. All travel expenses, accommodation, food and wage will required to be met.
